SUBJECT: Citation of Unit
THROUGH: Commanding Officers, 26th Infantry
TO : Commanding Officer, Company L, 26th Infantry.

Company L, 26th Infantry is cited for outstanding performance of duty in action in the vicinity of Maknessy, Tunisia, December 17 and 18, 1943.

"During the night, Company L, proceeded several miles into enemy territory and successfully attacked a strong enemy garrison, destroying quantities of stores and equipment, inflicting heavy casualties and capturing several members of the enemy force. The complete success of this mission, executed with but a slight casualty, is indicative of the high degree of courage and morale of Company L."
