SUBJECT: Citation of Unit.

THROUGH: Commanding Officer, 26th Infantry
TO : Commanding Officer, Company M, 26th Infantry.

Second Platoon, Company M, 26th Infantry is cited for outstanding performance of duty is the vicinity of El Guettar, Tunisia, March 24, 1943 to March 30, 1943.

"During an attack on strong enemy positions, this platoon operating across rough mountainous terrain, destroyed numerous enemy gun emplacements. Despite heavy enemy machine-gun, mortar, and artillery fire, the platoon continuously manned its guns and afforded protection to aid components of its units. The accurate firing, courage, and determination displayed by the men of the Second Platoon contributed materially to the success of this operation."
