Some version of one-- or all--of the three scenarios no doubt will come to pass. That is ensured by the fact that the principal problems will remain to plague the neighbors. We hope that the worst of reality will be only moderately bad or sad and that considerable parts of the best will be at least moderately pleasant. "Ojalá," as the Mexicans say--"God willing."' It is nice to dream of a really triumphant rapprochement, but for that we need to depend on the old prayer

Rejoice us, 0 Lord,
With thought of our need,
Rather than our merit.
