Preface

Title || 1: A World League for Peace

Historical Text Archive Note:

The United States of America has fought numerous wars, some with little justification. Woodrow Wilson, President from 1913-1921, took the United States into the Great War being in Europe and elsewhere. In doing so, he tried to promote democracy in the world against the conservative governments of Germany, the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Ottoman Empire, and numerous other such regimes. He was not quick to send Americans to kill and be killed. Nor did he do so for spurious reasons.

This document set, originally published by Harper & Brothers Publishers, New York and London (May, 1917)deserves publication again. Although Gutenberg Press published it in text [ASCII] format, the material needs to be published in HTML format and on a widely-read site.
